Cirrus' first loan through Kiva was to Uvaldo, a 41 year old man living in the small village of Asacualpa, Honduras; where the average annual income is $4,200. He is the father of three and his dream is to see his children graduate from college. For a living he sells new clothing such as jeans, t-shirts, shorts and sandals. He wakes up 6am to start selling his clothing. In November of 2011, Cirrus -along with others- loaned Uvaldo $275 to buy new clothing and sandals to sell. The loan allowed Uvaldo to increase his inventory around Christmas time and provide quality products to his customers. With the small increase in capital, Uvaldo was able to successfully grow his business and was able to completely repay his loan in October of 2012.
