Uvaldo from Honduras

Cirrus' first loan through Kiva was to Uvaldo, a 41 year old man living in the small village of Asacualpa, Honduras; where the average annual income is $4,200.  He is the father of three and his dream is to see his children graduate from college.  For a living he sells new clothing such as jeans, t-shirts, shorts and sandals. He wakes up 6am to start selling his clothing.  In November of 2011, Cirrus -along with others- loaned Uvaldo $275 to buy new clothing and sandals to sell.  The loan allowed Uvaldo to increase his inventory around Christmas time and provide quality products to his customers.  With the small increase in capital, Uvaldo was able to successfully grow his business and was able to completely repay his loan in October of 2012.  Check out Cirrus Thread's Lender Page to learn more about Cirrus' efforts to lift others from poverty through microfinance loans: http://www.kiva.org/lender/cirrusthreads. At least 10% of every purchase from Cirrus Threads goes towards funding our efforts with Kiva. Visit www.Cirrus-Threads.com for more information.

Giving Back

Early on, when Cirrus Threads was just an idea, we knew we wanted to be more than just a couple of friends selling clothing. We wanted to somehow make the idea of Cirrus more impactful. We decided to partner with KIVA (www.kiva.org) to provide opportunities to developing entrepreneurs the world over. KIVA is a non-profit organization with a mission to connect people through lending to alleviate poverty. Leveraging the internet and a worldwide network of microfianance institutions  KIVA lets individuals lend to help create opportunity around the world.

Cirrus Threads is committed to being a part of the change we want to see in the world by donating at lest 10% of every purchase to KIVA and helping entrepreneurs lift themselves from poverty. Our goal has never been to write a check and forget about it - satisfied that our contribution is in place - we want to highlight how your donations are making a difference in the lives of everyday individuals by providing them an opportunity to help themselves.

We're excited. You can help by purchasing an item of Cirrus Threads clothing. Every little bit helps.

Thanks!

At Cirrus Threads, we relentlessly focus on making excellence a habit. We don’t believe you have to be better than everyone else; you have to be better than you thought you could be. We aren’t afraid of failure, we’re afraid of hesitating at the opportunity to awaken our potential. We understand that fortune favors the brave. Cirrus is much more than clothing – it is a statement… we’re changing the world through clothes. This is our defining purpose.
